Graceland
Graceland was founded in 1860 in the town of Lake View, two miles north of the city limits. It is now at Irving Park Rd. and Clark St.
Lake View is now a neighborhood on Chicago's North Side.
The movement to create garden cemeteries like this one took them out of church control. They were designed for public use.
