Kerameikos, Athens

Kerameikos is the site of a "potters' quarter" where ceramics shops were found,         and an ancient cemetery, outside the old city walls,.

Burials were found that date to the Early Bronze Age (2700 - 2000 B.C.).

The organized cemetery is dated to about 1200 B.C.
