Olympia
Site of the original Olympic Games, Olympia was actually a sanctuary dedicated to Zeus.
Tradition sets the first Olympic Games here in 776 B.C. They were held every four years, the last being held in 383 A.D.
During the games, the armies of warring states would lay down their arms to participate in the games.
