Chicago, Illinois This page is dedicated to Judge Tony, who married me and my wife.
Incorporated as a town in 1833 with a population of 350, Chicago received a city charter from the state of Illinois in 1837.
An engineering project reversed the flow of the Chicago River in 1900. It now flows from Lake Michigan instead of into it.
